soft pastels

I find soft pastels to be one of the easiest medium to use when shading. Along with that, they merge and stand out on an artwork at the same time. It's also a fun medium to use when recreating landscapes on paper such as sunsets, beaches etc. because even with very less effort they always look appealing.

After trying out and getting fascinated by soft pastels, I decided to remake a few images from my gallery.

Although I had higher expectations and these didn't come out as expected, I decided to still continue to try out more images, this time I tried to change what went wrong in these two. I decided to make the grid a little lighter and be more accurate with the colors.

After recreating this image, I was satisfied about the fact that this one turned out better than the previous two. Even though it still didn't perfectly match the image as the clouds look like a mini tornado, but I decided to move on from that and create something original using soft pastels. That piece will be revealed in the next post on this medium.
