Trying Videography

Image
Below is something that I've never attempted to do before, but since I had a lot of free time at home, I decided to try out something different  The background of this video, is a human eye, representing any common human. The fire depicts anger or rage in a person, and the ice represents other people trying to calm the fire. Concept: The clip starts with fire, a minor fire, which wouldn't have lasted long. But as the video moves further, layers of ice start to freeze around the eye, trying to ease it out anyways. If observed carefully, compared to the intensity of the fire, there is too much ice, depicting the fact that the fire gets too much unwanted attention. When the ice closes inwards, without even realizing, it builds on to the pressure rather than decreasing it.  As animals have good instincts of  their surroundings, and they escape areas of danger immediately, the bats flying outwards are a hint given by the eye for the ice to stop. Since the ey...

pencil sketches -2

Image
Pencil sketches are simple to make and aren't very time consuming, so most pieces I make are usually just sketches. In the last week I've been able to make quite a few pieces. Both, with reference and original. Most of my references are taken from animated Disney characters.  Below is one such sketch inspired by Disney's Moana Apart from references, recently I've also made something original.  This artwork might be confusing at first sight. However, the meaning to it is as simple as the drawing looks. One question most people probably have is why the image is upside down, actually it's not, the image is inserted straight, its just that the artwork has been intentionally drawn upside down.  Concept: There can be multiple explanations to this artwork once the main idea is clear. This sketch is basically divided into two parts. Not equally, portraying the inequality of life.  The right side of the artwork represents the simple face of a huma...

scratch art

Image
Even though this is probably one of the easiest sounding medium, it really isn't. Because when doing scratch art, once you scratch something, you can't really unscratch it, the mark will stay that way. This leads to this medium undoubtedly requiring the most amount of effort compared to any other art form.  I was first introduced to this medium around seven years ago, which was when I tried it out for the first time. Ever since then I've been amazed by the concept of scratch art, specially the fact that one can't plan what to make, and just has to keep improvising and let the colors underneath decide.  Recently as well I've made a few pieces using this art form, however since it takes a lot of time, effort and patience, I haven't made that many. The scratch art that I make is mainly an outline, filled with designs of all sorts. I find making designs much easier this way, because not knowing what color is underneath opens infinite option...

pencil sketches

Image
Pencil sketches are one of the simplest forms of art, but that simplicity is also what makes it equally complex. There are many techniques one can use with just a pencil, combining them completes the artwork.  I realized the simplicity of pencil sketches around 2 years ago, which was when I first started to try to draw animated characters. The fact that I knew what I wanted to draw made it a lot easier for me because I didn't have to think much about it. This is just an example of a simple sketch I made long ago. It isn't shaded, plus there are no intricate designs, but it's how I started. Afterwards, I decided to remake something and then shade it so that it appears to be better and maybe even more appealing than the non-shaded sketches.  This did turn out to look better than the other ones, so I decided to include a little shaded part in most future sketches. Along with referring to images for my sketches, I've also tried to make ...

soft pastels

Image
I find soft pastels to be one of the easiest medium to use when shading. Along with that, they merge and stand out on an artwork at the same time. It's also a fun medium to use when recreating landscapes on paper such as sunsets, beaches etc. because even with very less effort they always look appealing. After trying out and getting fascinated by soft pastels, I decided to remake a few images from my gallery. Although I had higher expectations and these didn't come out as expected, I decided to still continue to try out more images, this time I tried to change what went wrong in these two. I decided to make the grid a little lighter and be more accurate with the colors.  After recreating this image, I was satisfied about the fact that this one turned out better than the previous two. Even though it still didn't perfectly match the image as the clouds look like a mini tornado, but I decided to move on from that and create something original usin...

introducing this artistic life

Image
I'm Naisha & I'm 14 years old.  One of my main interests in life is visual arts. As a child I was always interested in drawing and coloring. And ever since then, I've build up on my passion and created tons of art pieces. Including acrylic, watercolor, sketches, soft pastels and more.  May 17, 2010 Nowadays, since the world is going through a pandemic, I've had a lot of free time at home, so I decided to create this blog on which I will be putting up many of my artworks along with a little description. In other words, this'll be a way to showcase the journey of this artistic life:)
